- I learned that classes are never closed in Ruby; this is somewhat strange, but strangely handy, at least when used in a tutorial environment. I’m not yet sure whether this is helpful in the long run. Even weirder, you can append or override an existing class definition, and the changes are applied to an existing instantiation of that class. Polymorphic instances? I don’t even know what to call it, but it’s pretty cool.
