Three obvious things that I learned through experience today:
- Splitting logs is hard work. I have no talent at it whatsoever. It is a combination of very little upper body strength, poor motor control of a splitting maul, and a weak understanding of wood grain. Well, and of course practice.
- When its trunk is full of hardwood firewood, the WRX lets you know it.
- Wearing a wedding ring while handling a sledgehammer or splitting maul is a very bad idea. Blisters, swelling, and blood blisters now guarantee I’m not taking it off anytime soon.
