I’ve talked about some of the funny oddities of recruiters in the past. I’d forgotten to mention this guy in the past, but whenever he calls, he asks to put you on hold. I usually respond “sure thing” and then hang up.
How do you expect to cold call somebody as a recruiter, and get any sort of response from a well-qualified candidate when you put them on hold immediately? It’s one thing if you are trying to recruit folks that are desparate for work, but you are never going to attract somebody qualified by wasting their time. This one takes the cake.
