The Last Kiss was a romantic comedy in the Shakespearean sense. I was curious since a) it was written by Haggis and b) Zach Braff was the main character.
The film has one main plot, and a lot of small poorly developed side plots (to try and make the film “funny” I guess). The themes, while generally incoherent, focus on things like divorce, happiness in relationships, people staying in relationships they shouldn’t, and forgiveness. I think.
But alas, there are rules, and I expected better considering the cast and potential for a witty or introspective result, instead of a mechanical and predictable pile of rubbish. 5/10.
