Had the opportunity to go to The Met today. Despite living a quick train and subway (or nice walk) away for five years, I’d somehow never done that before.
I was pretty impressed with the museum. It reminded me of the Louvre, if a bit smaller, and less linear in layout.
Walked through about 70% of it, didn’t see Roman/Greek/Modern, I think. Didn’t spend too much time looking at the European paintings. Seeing three works by Vermeer in one place was awesome, though. I’d go back for that again, I think. The dress show they had in the basement was sort of interesting too.
Anyway, definitely worth the trip, if you haven’t been.
