So, I finished Metal Gear Solid 4. It was good. Worth the money, certainly. The gameplay mechanics are interesting, and the variety of items/weapons means that there are numerous approaches to a problem. I’m sure in the higher difficulties this starts to become more necessary; there are countless of ways to work through the game.

But on to the sacrilege: I hate the cut scenes. I like the immersive approach seen in the Half-Life games, for example. I dislike going from 3 minutes of fighting to 30 minutes of cut scenes. I want to play the game, not watch somebody else play it. Yes, I know I’m saying this in disregard of the history of the game, and the importance of the storyline, but I’d rather a few more levels/minutes of gameplay, and just skip the cut scenes altogether.
