I’ve been meaning to finish In Search of Clusters for years. I originally acquired this book in 2008 (thanks, Amazon, for blurring the lines of amazing and creepy). Somehow it took me until this morning to finish the last few pages.
This is the introductory text on clusters. Want to know why your distributed system falls apart when changing architectures? Want to know how to scale a system? Want to understand your model of computing?
Clustering may seem a somewhat dated concept, but this book is not just seminal. The writing is coherent and the concepts are foundational to the notion of distributed computing. This book needs to be read.
